As an out trans woman I’m not stranger to trans misogyny. And even before, when I was closeted, it was endemic. Indeed a goodly part of my own closet was constructed from this plain old sexism. How could I possibly embrace the woman I was when that was so ubiquitously portrayed as giving up that oh so valuable ‘gift’ - being born ‘male’.
Well I call bullshit. I’m tired of femininity and womanhood being denigrated by men whose masculinity is so damned fragile. Men, who too typically, couldn’t get through daily life without a woman to act as their surrogate mother.
No, of course not all men. But the ones who moan the loudest about things like gender variance… Yeah those guys. This is 2020. They just seem so surplus to requirements.
