You’re beautifully right that the ability to hold a conversation, perhaps especially via these restricted means, is a key indicator of the value a relationship might promise.
A fair example is my wife. We met 23 years ago in a CompuServe chat room. I can chat. So can she. We’re still together. But that’s a story for another time.
