I'm very flattered that you like my work. I do indeed aim to inject a little humour because what's the alternative?! Curl up and die? That gets boring after half an hour in a fetal position on the kitchen floor. Besides which I've discovered that people respond more to the serious points I'm trying to make if they're delivered with a side of jokiness.

And I fully sympathise with what you say about happiness. I think though, as trans people, we really don't have any frame of reference when it comes to joy. Them when we transition it becomes immediately clear what the difference is between what we'd previously understood as happiness and how it can truly feel.

Here's to a future lifetime of the full measure of happiness. For you, for me, for every trans person the world over because we're surely owed it.
