You missed my point.
I didn't claim Neville lacked perspective because of his socialisation per se. I was using his own words againt him ironically.
HE is the one who claimed that women lacked perspective because of socialisation.
As a trans woman I can tell you socialisation doesn't work that way. Well, at least for trans folk it doesn't.
What I was trying to point out to Nevile was that the supposed blindness of women to men's experiences was, at least, as applicable to men like him. And a woman like me is in a moderately unique position to point out the flaws in his thinking, having lived as both 'man' and woman. Which is a perspective Neville simply cannot lay claim to.
So, with the benefit of having lived as both genders, I'll happily restate...women are disadvantaged. Not by biology, but by design. By men. Please, by all means, try to console yourself that you're one of the good guys, but honestly that bar is so damn low. Unless you're screaming yourself hoarse every time a brother like Neville spouts shite you're complicit.
